Portland Is Owned By Penske in the Qualifying
In qualifying for the Grand Prix of Portland on Saturday, Scott McLaughlin led a Team Penske charge and won the NTT P1 Award to propel Roger Penske's unstoppable force to a 1-2-3 sweep.
McLaughlin's hot lap in the No. 3 Team Penske Chevrolet was 58.2349 seconds and 121.412 mph, giving him his third career Series pole of the year.
New Zealander McLaughlin, who has two races left and is 54 points behind teammate and series leader Will Power, is one of seven drivers still in the running for the championship.
After this race, a driver must be within 54 points of the leader to still be in the running for the championship on September 11th.

'We're aware of the laws. We're Penske drivers," McLaughlin remarked in response to the most recent intramural conflict on the squad.
