The husband of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pleaded guilty
Tuesday to misdemeanor driving under the influence charges related to a May crash in California's wine country
and received a sentence of three years of probation and five days in jail.
Paul Pelosi previously served two days in prison and was given credit for two further days for good behaviour.
Unless the court orders otherwise, state law permits DUI misdemeanour defendants to appear through their attorney.
