Nick Kyrgios is in 'the most uncomfortable' situation after his 'nightmare' US Open victory.
NICK KYRGIOS made an uncomfortable start to his US Open campaign this week.
Nick Kyrgios described his US Open first-round win over Thanasi Kokkinakis as "the most painful match of his career," as he advanced in straight sets at Flushing Meadows.
Late Monday evening, the doubles partners and best friends were forced to compete for the first time.
Kyrgios and Kokkinakis rocketed to doubles stardom earlier this year when they won the Australian Open.
The former was a big favourite against the world no 70 in their maiden meeting as solo combatants.
Despite powering all the way to the Wimbledon final last month, Kyrgios went into the US Open as the 23rd seed but many expect him to go on another barnstorming run.
