AMC shares drop 30% as the owner of Regal Cinemas issues a bankruptcy warning.

AMC dropped more than 30%, adding to a loss of more than 26% from the previous week.

Many shareholders' losses on Monday were probably compensated by the value of the recently traded APE shares.

The drop occurs as rival Cineworld said on Monday that it is thinking about declaring bankruptcy.

AMC CEO Adam Aron warned of this potential move over the weekend

AMC CEO Adam Aron said in a statement that “we remain confident about AMC’s future” 

At the end of the second quarter, AMC reported long-term debt of more than $5 billion.
