Charlbi Dean, an actress and model, died unexpectedly at the age of 32, according to PEOPLE on Tuesday.
A representative for Dean, who stars in the upcoming film Triangle of Sadness, which won the Palme d'Or at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
She died Monday in New York City, according to TMZ, of an unexpected and abrupt illness. The nature of the illness has not been revealed.
The South African-born actress was active on social media, with her most recent post being uploaded a few days ago.
